HYCON Hydraulic Submersible Pumps

The HYCON hydraulic submersible pumps are small, powerful, and made for heavy-duty jobs.

For dredging, underwater suction cleaning, or the like. HYCON submersible pumps are designed for the high demand in the construction industry.

Thanks to the clever impeller design, the pumps are unaffected by particle sizes up to 74 mm, and wear is significantly reduced compared to other pumps.

HYCON pumps are compact in size, light in weight, with high capacity. Driven by the built-in hydraulic motor, they can run dry and be operated from compact power packs or directly from the excavator, tractor, or truck on site.

Additional features

▶ No electric cables.
▶ Very high performance in a compact size and weight.
▶ Few wear parts – less service.
▶ Direct drive hydraulic motor for long pump life.
▶ Powered directly from compact power packs, tractors, excavators, etc.
▶ Max. head 30 m (2") - 20 m (3") - 22 m (4").
▶ Accept solids up to Ø38 - 74 mm depending on pump size.

Considerations before choosing a Hydraulic submersible pump

Before choosing which hydraulic submersible pump that fits your application there is a couple of things to consider.

Let’s assume that you(or a client) is assigned to a task where you need to cut or drill through a pipe in a small and tight area with limited ability to operate. A usual task could be renovation of sewers or relining of a pipe. Specifically, for those kind of tasks the operator finds himself in a manhole where a sewage pump is needed to get rid of wastewater. It could also be after a floor grinding job, where there’s often created lot’s of slurry.

You’ll need an efficient submersible pump, which has the capacity to redirect slurry and wastewater, as well as being capable of handling solids such as rocks in order to keep the workplace clear. This might become a problem if the sieve inside the pump is not wide enough to transport the rocks. If that’s the case there will be complications, or worst case the pump will stop working, as solids get stuck inside.

The filter in Hycon’s Sewage pumps are built to handle solids that vary from ø38-74, so before choosing a pump you’ll have to consider the size of the solids in the area where you intent to use it. If you are already aware of the size of solids in your area, it should be straightforward to find a pump that suits your needs.

Moreover, you should also consider how much water you expect to move – our submersible pumps are able to transport between 35 m³/h and 120.000 m³/h pr. hour, which is more than enough for most applications.

Another great feature exclusive to hydraulic sewage pumps is the ability to automatically shut off when there is no water to redirect. Usually this is a much-appreciated feature when working in the city, near a highway or when a lot of tools are running simultaneously. You simply don’t have to keep an eye on the pump or worry about turning it off. Also referred to as priming. A hydraulic sewage pump like Hycon’s, does NOT need manual priming.
